Determining the intelligence of a country’s population is not as straightforward as one may think it is. For one, IQ is not the best measure of intelligence since it only measures exactly how much a person knows right now. What’s more, it also does not indicate an individual’s emotional or social intelligence – both factors that can determine one’s success.

1. Japan
Number one on our list is Japan. The country has produced a total of 26 Nobel laureates and ranks fifth in the entire world for standardized school testing. The East Asian nation also has several amazing universities.
