At the peak of Johnny Depp’s defamation suit against his ex-wife Amber Heard, news broke out that the actor would not make a comeback to the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. But does Depp winning his lawsuit against Heard mean he will be able to reprise his role as Captain Jack Sparrow?
According to producer Jerry Bruckheimer, there are two “Pirates” scripts being developed at the moment. However, neither will include Johnny Depp. When speaking to The Sunday Times, Bruckheimer revealed, “We’re talking to Margot Robbie. We are developing two Pirates scripts — one with her, one without. [Will Depp be back?] Not at this point. The future is yet to be decided.”
