The Tank Man
The person in the photograph, which was taken in 1989 by photographer Jeff Widener, has come to be known as the Tank Man. Although it doesn’t show his face, the image has become a symbol of China’s democracy movement. But even decades later, no one has claimed to know the man in the photograph.
