5 Most Ridiculous Moments From Johnny Depp and Amber Heard’s Trial

Over five years after Johnny Depp and Amber Heard’s split, the Pirates of the Caribbean actor filed a $50 million defamation lawsuit against his ex-wife. As the trial continues, we’ve been keeping track of the most shocking and ridiculous revelations from both sides. Here are five absurd moments from the trial.

Heard’s attorney objected to his own question

Adam Nadelhaft, one of Amber Heard’s attorneys, goofed up by objecting to his own line of questioning, which prompted Depp to chuckle in court. Nadelhaft was questioning Ben King, who was Depp’s house manager, regarding a fight between the then-couple. The fight allegedly left Depp with a severed finger.

Nadelhaft asked King, “You didn’t know what could cause damage to Mr. Depp’s hand while you were there on March 8, correct?” After King gave his reply, Nadelfaft said, “Uh, objection, hearsay.” Judge Penney Azcarate responded, “Wait – you asked the question. Next question.”

Depp accused Heard of defecating in his bed

During the defamation trial, Johnny Depp recalled that he discovered “human fecal matter” on his bed after an argument with Heard. The actor said he found the incident so grotesque and bizarre that he couldn’t help but laugh.

Johnny Depp said he approached his then-wife for a divorce not too long after. However, Amber Heard denied these allegations and said, “Absolutely not. Absolutely not. First of all, I don’t think that’s funny. I was not in a pranking mood. I don’t think that’s funny, period. That’s disgusting.”

Heard said Depp proposed to her without a ring

Amber Heard revealed that although Depp’s proposal was sweet and traditional, he did not have an engagement ring with him. She said he “got down on one knee and said ‘I want you to be my girl, be my girl forever, my woman, my girl. I want you to be the rest of my life. Say yes to me.'”

She responded by asking him if he was serious, given that he didn’t have a ring. She added, “In my experience, Johnny can be very impulsive.”

Depp’s work didn’t impress Amber Heard

On the first day that Amber Heard took the witness stand, she detailed the early days of their romance. Shockingly, however, she revealed that she wasn’t a fan of Depp but knew him because he was a famous actor.

She said, “I knew who he was. I wasn’t a fan of his work. I wasn’t familiar with him, but I knew who he was. I knew he was one of the most famous people in the world.”

Lady Gaga’s ex took the stand to discuss Heard and Elon Musk’s breakup

Christian Carino, who is Lady Gaga’s ex and Johnny Depp and Amber Heard’s former talent manager, took the stand to discuss the actress’ breakup with SpaceX and Tesla CEO Elon Musk.

Carino testified to text messages that he and Heard exchanged in August 2017. In one message, Heard confessed she was “dealing” with a split and was “so sad.” Carino messaged Heard that she could “avoid” such problems if she didn’t date “uber famous people.”
